Ivan Bednárik is a highly respected transport executive with extensive experience in the railway sector. He has served as an advisor to the Minister of Transport and held senior leadership roles across various transport companies as Commercial and Financial Director, and Chair of the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board. He gained significant expertise in railway transport management during his tenure as CEO of the Czech Railways (ČD), and through nearly eight years at ČD Cargo, where he also served as CEO. His leadership later extended to overseeing the entire ČD Group.

Upon his appointment as the Director General of ŽSR, Bednárik stated: “I definitely see the changes currently taking place in the railway sector as part of a natural evolution and I will do my best to ensure that ŽSR ranks among the most successful and modern infrastructure managers.”
