UIC is delighted to invite you to the 5th Global Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) Conference, taking place on 24-25 November 2026 at the UIC Headquarters in Paris.
2026 will be a pivotal year for FRMCS, marked by major railway sector milestones including:
- Delivery of the UIC FRMCS V3 Specifications (due November 2026)
- The start of testing of the FRMCS V2.2 specification set within FP2 MORANE 2, a Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (EU RAIL) co-funded project, coordinated by UIC, bringing together 16 European railway undertakings, 13 product manufacturers, the European Rail Supply Industry Association (UNIFE), and two mobile network operators
- Expansion of FRMCS initiatives beyond Europe, reflecting next-generation railway communications’ growing global momentum
FRMCS is a major step [JG1.1]in railway telecoms, as it will be the enabler of railway digitalisation. This new communications system will enable enhanced operations, overall railway performance, and ultimately safety.
