The UIC Rail Academy is organising two in-person training courses in June and September 2026, available in both English and French. These courses are designed for railway professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of human and organisational factors and strengthen safety culture within their organisations.
The first course, “Human and Organisational Factors: A pillar for safety”, focuses on the role of human and organisational factors in safety management. Participants will explore the main concepts in this field, develop the skills needed to implement these factors effectively within their organisations, and strengthen leadership capabilities related to safety management. By the end of the course, the participants will be better equipped to manage human and organisational factors, understand the mechanisms behind both positive and negative safety events, and learn to adapt practices within a company.
This training course will take place in French from Monday 15 June (13:30) to Wednesday 17 June (12:00) and in English from Monday 21 September (13:30) to Wednesday 23 September (12:00).
The second course, “Creating a successful safety culture in a railway organisation,” is dedicated to understanding and developing a strong safety culture. It highlights why safety culture is essential for organisational performance, explains the key attributes of a robust safety culture, and supports participants in contributing to cultural change within their own organisations. Participants will gain deeper insight into the factors that influence behaviours and habits, enhance their leadership and management skills, and acquire a fresh perspective on building and sustaining a successful safety culture.
This course will be delivered in French from Wednesday 17 June (13:30) to Friday 19 June (12:00) and in English from Wednesday 23 September (13:30) to Friday 25 September (12:00).
Both courses are aimed at executives, managers, engineers, and safety professionals.
